Day 1:
LONDON - CALAIS - OVERNIGHT DRIVE
Today evening join up with your coach and depart towards
Dover or Folkestone for your crossing to Calais; you will require
your passports at hand as we will cross the UK and French
immigration, as well as security. The crossing on the ferry will last
approx. 90 Minutes; 40 minutes if the crossing is from the Euro
Tunnel train.
Once we are in mainland Europe, we make our way directly
towards Switzerland. We will be crossing through France,
Belgium and possibly Luxembourg whilst we make our way
towards Switzerland. (D)
Day 2:
RHINE FALLS - ZURICH - CENTRAL SWITZERLAND
In the morning we will stop to freshen up at services after the
overnight drive, you can purchase your own breakfast from the
services. Embark on a scenic drive through the picturesque Black
Forest region of Germany, en route to Schaffhausen, a charming
city nestled alongside the river Rhine. Marvel at the sheer power
and magnificence of the Rhine Falls, the largest open-plain
waterfalls in Europe. From the bank of the river, admire the
impressive Wörth Castle as you take in the breathtaking sight of
the towering, thundering waters. We then continue our journey
towards the bustling metropolis of Zurich. Upon arrival, take
advantage of the hour of free time allotted by your tour guide to
explore the city. Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture
of Zurich as you visit its most iconic landmarks, such as the
Fraumünster Church, famous for its stunning Chagall stainedglass windows, or the Grossmunster, a medieval Protestant
church located in the old town. Views of the picturesque Lake
Zurich. This is the perfect opportunity to get a glimpse into the
heart of Zurich and create memories to last a lifetime. We have
our Indian meal either at the restaurant or the hotel before we
settle in for our two nights at the hotel. (D)
Day 3:
CENTRAL SWITZERLAND - GOLDEN PASS
PANORAMIC TRAIN - GLACIER 3000 -
INTERLAKEN - CENTRAL SWITZERLAND
After a refreshing breakfast, we embark on a scenic journey
to Zweisimmen, where we board the wondrous Golden Pass
Panoramic Train towards Gstaad. As we travel through the
picturesque Swiss countryside, we feast our eyes on the rich
grassland, quaint wooden chalets, and the towering peaks of the
Alps in the background.
Upon arrival in Gstaad, we continue on to the awe-inspiring
Glacier 3000, where we will experience the unique and thrilling
Peak Walk by Tissot, The Peak Walk by Tissot is a suspension
bridge connecting two peaks in the Swiss Alps. The bridge spans
over the Glacier 3000 and connects the peaks of Scex Rouge and
the Oldenegg. The Peak Walk by Tissot is also the only suspension
bridge in the world that connects two peaks, panoramic views of
the Matterhorn, Mont-Blanc, and Jungfrau. Here, we can take the
panoramic cable car to reach an elevation of 3000 meters in just
15 minutes. On the glacier, Ice Express Chairlift, Snow Fun Park,
Snowbus tour, Alpine Coaster, and even a Dog Sled Ride.
Interlaken, a charming resort town nestled between Lake Brienz
and Lake Thun. The Kursaal Garden is a public park in Interlaken,
Switzerland. The park is also home to a statue of the late Yash
Chopra, an Indian filmmaker who was known for his contributions
to the Indian film industry. The statue serves as a tribute to his life
and work, and is a popular tourist attraction in Interlaken. (B, D)
Day 4:
CENTRAL SWITZERLAND - MT TITLIS - LUCERNE -
BERN - STRASBOURG REGION
After breakfast, make your way to Mt Titlis - where we ascend
10,000ft to the summit of Mt. Titlis. We take a small cable car
or funicular depending on the time of the year before we take
the world's first revolving cable car, the Titlis Rotair. The Rotair
makes one full revolution whilst we ascend to the top of Mt Titlis
giving you a 360-degree view of the Uri Alps.
Once we reach the top you can not only enjoy the breath-taking
panoramic views of the surrounding Swiss landscapes, but you
will have ample time to take pictures in traditional Swiss outfits,
buy souvenirs and walk the highest Cliff Walk, a suspended
pedestrian bridge along the cliff of Mount Titlis 3,000 m above
sea level, it is believed to be the highest elevation suspension
bridge in Europe (subject to operation).
On Mt Titlis, you can also enjoy the optional Ice Flyer (subject to
operation). The Ice Flyer chairlift sweeps you smoothly and safely
over crisp, virgin snowfields and icy depths. We make our way
down from Engelberg to the beautiful city of Luzern (Lucerne).
In Lucerne, take in the breath-taking view of Lake Luzern
surrounded by the Swiss Alps and the majestic peaks of Mt Pilatus
and Mt Rigi. Stroll through the charming cobblestone streets of
the Old Town and indulge in some souvenir shopping. Visit the
Chapel Bridge, also known as Kapellbrücke, a 204-meter-long
wooden bridge built in 1333 and considered the oldest covered
bridge in Europe. The Lion Monument, a stunning rock relief
designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen. The monument honors the
Swiss Guards who lost their lives during the French Revolution,
and is widely recognized as one of the world's most moving and
poignant works of stone.
We travel to the historic city of Bern, the capital of Switzerland.
We'll embark on a guided tour of the charming old town, where
you'll get to explore some of its most iconic landmarks, including
the Zytglogge clock tower, the parliament square, and the Bear
Pit in Bären Park. The city's well-preserved medieval architecture,
combined with its stunning natural surroundings, will leave you
with a lasting impression of Swiss beauty and heritage. (B, D)
Day 5:
STRASBOURG REGION - CALAIS - LONDON
Today morning we depart very early from the Hotel, depending
on the location we may be given a packed breakfast. We then
check out of the hotel and depart towards Calais for your crossing
to Dover or Folkestone.
We will be covering quite a distance today to reach London,
so ensure you carry your key essentials and devices for your
entertainment for the journey.
The journey back we say goodbye to friends we have made along
the way as we drop off those getting off on the route.
We arrive back at Wembley late in the evening. (B)
